James Thawe Appreciates President Chakwera's Compensation on Martyr's Day

James Thawe a representative of the fallen heroes from Nkhata Bay has expressed deep appreciation for President Lazarus Chakwera's Compensation for the families during the Martyrs Day commemoration on March 3.
Thawe who attended the event at Martyrs' Memorial site in Nkhata Bay described the gesture as a long overdue acknowledgement of sacrifices made by thise who fought for Malawi's independence.
"We have waited for this moment for years many families of our heroes have lived in poverty yet their relatives paid the ultimate price for this nation and we are greatful to president Chakwera for recognizing the struggle." Said Thawe.
During the ceremony President Chakwera emphasized the importance of remembering the past and honoring those who died for Malawi's freedom. Their sacrifice must never be forgotten.
"Today we are committed to supporting the families just as they supported our nation's fight for independence and i have compensated northern region Martyr families and i am not forgetting fallen heroes from the central and southern regions ." Chakwera said .
Traditional authority Mkumbila echoed Thawe's sentiments saying the compensation package brings relief to many struggling families who are facing hunger.
"This is what true leadership looks like, our Martyrs did not die in vain and the support will help their descendants live dignified lives." Said chief Mkumbila.
Miriam Banda one of the attendees expressed mixed emotions of gratitude and sorrow saying i lost my great grand father in the struggle and hearing that government took action in compensating our families fills my heart with pride.
For many Chakwera 's commitment to compaensating the Martyrs'families marked a significant step towards justice and national healing.
