Vunga: Fallout with Silver Strikers Coach Peter Mgangila

By: Jane Chimchere  May 16 ,2025 A row has erupted between Silver Strikers midfielder Uchizi Vunga and head coach Peter Mgangila after the player was repotedly left out of various matches drspite being named  mid-season's best player, sources confirmed on Friday in Lilongwe.  According to reports from Akantolola sports , a platform owned by Gabriel Akantolola Moyo who also acts as Vunga's manager , the ongoing tensions stem from lack of understanding between the player and the Coach.  Moyo alleged that coach Mgangila has sidelined the talented midfielder from multiple key games, supposedly without justification.  "This issue is not new. Change Goal Falls in MCP Primaries at Chipoka

By: Jane Chimchere  May 9, 2025 Uladi Mussa , famously known as " Chenji Golo" has lost the MCP primaries in Salima south at Chipoka 1,dashing his hopes of reclaiming his former parliamentary seat under a new party.  Uladi Anthusafunana Basikolo Chenji Golo Mussa a Malawian politician and educator , was a former Minister of Home Affairs and internal security in the DPP led government , who was appointed by former President Bingu wa Mutharika in 2004 has  suffered a defeat during the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) primary elections in the southern part of Salima district, managing only 63 votes.  Madalitso Brown Mazombwe won the race with 630 votes , followed by Richard Kwalira with 388 votes, and Christopher Mmanja with 340 votes.  MCP Director of Economic Affairs , Henry Mumba, who presided over the elections , announced the results.  Mussa once a dominant force in Malawian politics's  recent fall from grace in the MCP primaries has left many...

Afidep Donates K4. 5 M to MISA Malawi

By: Jane Chimchere  May 1 ,2025 The African Institute for Development Policy (Afidep) has challenged Joournalist in the country to prioritize on reporting for development and health financing issues.  Afidepo Chief of operations Wickliffe Okinda made the call on Thursday when he was presenting a K4. 5 million cheque to Media Institute of Southern Africa Malawi chapter (MISA) towards the 2025 Word Press Freedom Day Celebration scheduled on 3 May 2025. " The support will motivate journalists to report more  and bring to light critical issues that might otherwise remain in shadows."
